01

High-rise construction

We build residential, commercial and public buildings, from the first ground intervention to a fully functional structure ready for use.

Our team covers all project phases:

  • design consulting
  • site preparation and foundation works
  • structure execution
  • building envelope
  • finishing trades and MEP installations
  • landscaping
  • technical inspection and handover

Behind every project stands long-term experience in delivering complex buildings in urban environments, where precision, execution dynamics and meeting deadlines have no alternative.

We work systematically and responsibly, with a clear focus on execution quality, site safety and long-term value of the building.

02 / Civil engineering

Civil engineering

Roads, bridges, water construction and related transport infrastructure.

02

Civil engineering

We carry out civil engineering works: bridges, viaducts and overpasses, including the related transport and utility infrastructure.

We participate in all phases of construction:

  • preparatory and earthworks
  • deep and shallow foundations
  • execution of reinforced-concrete, prestressed and steel span structures
  • girder installation
  • roadway slabs and finishing layers

These are technically complex structures requiring precise execution, phased work organisation and coordination with existing traffic and infrastructure systems.

We have experience on projects above traffic and railway corridors, in heavily trafficked locations and on terrains with limited access, where solutions must be both technically correct and logistically feasible.

03 / Heritage

Heritage restoration

Expert restoration of protected buildings respecting conservator conditions.

03

Heritage restoration

Restoration of historic buildings demands more than construction knowledge — it requires respect for what has already been built.

We carry out works in line with conservation principles, with the aim of preserving the original values and authenticity of the building. Every intervention is based on prior research, structural assessment and available documentation.

We collaborate with conservators, restorers and designers on the revitalisation of protected heritage buildings, applying traditional materials and techniques along with controlled use of modern rehabilitation methods when necessary.

Interventions often include structural strengthening of load-bearing elements, damage repair, partial reconstruction and adaptation to modern use, with minimal intervention into the original state.

Each phase is followed through systematic documentation and quality control, enabling transparent management of the restoration process and long-term protection of the building.

The goal is to preserve not only structural stability but also the identity and value of the building over time.

04 / Infrastructure rehab

Infrastructure rehabilitation

Bridges, viaducts, tunnels and hydroelectric power plants. Comprehensive rehabilitation of load-bearing elements.

Infrastructure rehabilitation

Bridges, viaducts, tunnels, hydropower

We carry out complex rehabilitation works on bridges, viaducts, tunnels and hydropower facilities — structures exposed to continuous static and dynamic loads, aggressive environmental influences and long-term operation.

Works are typically executed while preserving partial or full functionality of the structure, requiring detailed phased technological planning, temporary safety measures (scaffolding, supports, bypass systems), precise logistics and strict safety protocols.

Rehabilitation of reinforced concrete is performed based on prior diagnostics: carbonation, chloride content, concrete strength (pull-off, sclerometer) and reinforcement condition. Damaged concrete is selectively removed by hydrodemolition down to a sound substrate, followed by reinforcement cleaning and reprofiling with compatible repair mortars.

Depending on conditions, we apply additional methods:

  • crack injection with epoxy or cementitious systems
  • composite strengthening (FRP, lamellae)
  • prestressing and post-strengthening
  • cathodic protection in chloride-contaminated environments
  • protective coatings and waterproofing systems

For tunnels and hydropower facilities we additionally perform lining repairs, rock-mass injection, water inflow sealing and restoration of functional systems.

All works comply with applicable standards (EN, HRN), with continuous supervision, quality control and documentation.

05 / Hydrodemolition

Hydrodynamic concrete removal

Precise concrete removal with high-pressure water, without microcracks.

05

Hydrodynamic concrete removal

Hydrodynamic concrete removal (hydrodemolition) is a specialised technology for the selective breakdown of concrete using ultra-high-pressure water (UHP), intended for the rehabilitation of reinforced concrete structures without compromising their load-bearing capacity.

The process uses water jets at pressures of approximately 1,000 to 2,500 bar (with flows up to 200 l/min). Dynamic water pressure penetrates the concrete structure, causing controlled detachment of degraded, carbonated or chloride-contaminated concrete. Sound concrete with higher compressive strength remains intact.

Unlike mechanical methods (pneumatic chiseling, milling), hydrodemolition does not induce vibrations or impact stress, eliminating the risk of microcracks, loss of bonding and local reinforcement damage. The treated surface is rough with open aggregate structure, ensuring high adhesion of subsequent repair materials.

The process also:

  • protects worker health
  • is environmentally friendly
  • removes corrosion products and cleans reinforcement to bright metal
  • reduces chloride content in the work zone by flushing pores
  • enables precise definition of removal depth without over-excavation

Technology is performed manually or robotically (remotely controlled units), with continuous control of pressure, flow, jet geometry, distance and exposure time, depending on project requirements and concrete properties.

Applied on bridges, viaducts, tunnels, industrial and hydraulic structures, in any orientation (horizontal, vertical, overhead). Compliant with EN 1504 standard.

06 / FRP

Structural strengthening with FRP

Composite carbon-fibre strengthening. Lightweight, precise and long-lasting.

06

Structural strengthening with FRP

FRP systems (Fiber Reinforced Polymers) are a high-performance strengthening technology based on composites of high-tensile-strength fibres (CFRP, GFRP, BFRP, AFRP) embedded in a polymer matrix (epoxy or vinyl-ester resins).

Due to their very high strength-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance and chemical resilience, FRP systems are used to increase the load capacity of reinforced concrete, steel and masonry structures without significant added weight or change in cross-section geometry.

Applications include:

  • increased flexural capacity
  • increased shear resistance
  • increased torsional resistance
  • increased ductility
  • seismic strengthening
  • repairs after degradation, fire, impact or load changes

Strengthening is performed as:

  • Externally bonded (EB) systems — surface-bonded laminates and fabrics
  • Near-surface mounted (NSM) systems — FRP rods or strips installed in pre-cut grooves, with better protection and more efficient stress transfer

Force transfer is based on adhesion between FRP and substrate; proper substrate preparation is critical (removal of weak layer, defined roughness, moisture control, surface strength via pull-off tests).

Installation requires controlled conditions (temperature, humidity), precise resin dosing and mixing, proper fibre impregnation and control of layer thickness and orientation.

07 / Steel

Steel structure rehabilitation

Corrosion protection, strengthening and repair of industrial steel assemblies.

Click for details →
07

Steel structure rehabilitation

Steel structures require systematic maintenance and timely rehabilitation to preserve designed load capacity, stability and durability. Long-term exposure to atmospheric influences, material fatigue and aggressive media leads to corrosion, cross-section loss and degradation of joints.

We carry out rehabilitation works on bridges, industrial halls, chimneys and other steel structures, starting with detailed structural diagnostics. Tests include visual inspections, measurement of remaining cross-sections, and non-destructive testing (UT — ultrasonic, MT — magnetic particle, PT — penetrant) for crack detection in welded joints.

Based on results, rehabilitation measures may include:

  • replacement or strengthening of degraded elements (plates, profiles, stiffeners)
  • execution of new welded and bolted connections in controlled conditions
  • local or global structural strengthening
  • surface preparation by sand or water-jet blasting to a defined cleanliness level (Sa 2½)
  • multi-layer corrosion protection systems aligned with environment and operation

Special attention is given to welding technology (MMA, MIG/MAG, TIG), heat input control, crack prevention and quality assurance through qualified procedures (WPS) and certified welders.

The goal is to stop degradation, restore or increase load capacity and ensure long-term resistance to environmental and operational impacts.

08 / Injection

Injection works

Consolidation, capillary and structural injection of cracks and voids.

Injection works

Consolidation · capillary · structural

Injection is a specialised method for repair and improvement of mechanical and hydrological properties of structures and soil, by controlled injection of grouts into cracks, voids, pores and discontinuities.

The process uses mineral systems (cement, microcement, lime suspensions) or chemical systems (epoxy, polyurethane, acrylate resins) under defined pressure and flow, penetrating the material structure and restoring continuity, watertightness and load-bearing capacity.

We perform the following types of injection:

  • Consolidation injection for improving load capacity of foundation soil and homogenising masonry and stone structures, especially effective on historic stone walls.
  • Capillary injection to interrupt capillary moisture rise in walls. Hydrophobic or gel mixtures form a horizontal barrier and reduce moisture transfer.
  • Structural crack injection in reinforced concrete and masonry to restore monolithic behaviour. Epoxy systems for structural cracks (stress transfer); polyurethane for sealing active water leaks.

Material and method selection is based on prior diagnostics: crack width and character, moisture saturation, material permeability, load and durability requirements.

Execution includes:

  • drilling and packer placement based on crack geometry
  • pressure control and sequential injection (typically lower to upper zones)
  • monitoring material consumption and structural response
  • sealing and finishing of injection points

Particularly suitable for heritage restoration where intervention inside the structure is needed without changing the external appearance.

09 / Timber

Timber structures

Rehabilitation and construction of timber structures using modern and traditional techniques.

Timber structures

Rehabilitation and construction

Timber as a construction material is characterised by pronounced anisotropy, sensitivity to moisture and biological influences, and specific load-transfer mechanisms — requiring high expertise in design, execution and rehabilitation.

We build new timber structures for roofs, intermediate floor systems and load-bearing assemblies, including classical solid elements, glued-laminated beams and CLT systems, with precise joint execution and control of deformations, deflections and stability.

For rehabilitation of existing and historic structures, our approach is based on detailed timber diagnostics:

  • visual and instrumental damage assessment
  • moisture content and degradation level determination
  • identification of biological pests (fungi, insects)
  • load-bearing capacity and joint condition checks

Rehabilitation measures include:

  • partial replacement or splicing of damaged sections
  • reconstruction of traditional carpenter joints with modern fasteners
  • local and global strengthening with composites (CFRP, GFRP strips and rods)
  • timber consolidation with epoxy systems for local damage

Special attention to timber protection:

  • Biological protection — fungicidal and insecticidal treatments
  • Moisture protection — detail control, ventilation, capillary path interruption
  • Fire protection — surface coatings and dimensioning per char rate

For historic buildings, special emphasis on preservation of original geometry, materials and joints with minimal interventions to ensure required load capacity and operational safety.

A word from the CEO

People, quality and trust

Gorki Bratim, Director of MAR d.o.o.
Gorki Bratim · Director
At a time when the market rewards the lowest price, we choose the highest quality. Safety and durability tolerate no compromise.

For more than three decades MAR has been building at the same pace and with the same values. Behind every project, whether it's a bridge rehabilitation, a building restoration or a school construction, stands a team of people who do their work honestly, responsibly and with great personal commitment.

Our greatest value are our people. Every role, from the field to the office, matters equally because serious construction is not built in a single department, but through the joint work of the entire team. We invest in our people because we know they are the reason MAR stands where it stands today.

The same clients return to us year after year. Not because of promises, but because of the results we have achieved together on site.

We are building the future on the same foundations on which we started. Patiently, consistently, and always with people at the centre.

Gorki Bratim, M.Eng. Director, MAR d.o.o.
